Our Story

Some of the best ideas are born out of frustration. Ours was born out of a bad headwrap day. 😂

It was 2021 and like so many women, wrapping my hair was something I genuinely loved. There is something so beautiful, so regal, so effortlessly powerful about a woman in a headwrap. It felt like culture, like confidence, like self expression all wrapped into one — literally. But as much as I loved the look, the experience of actually wearing a headwrap was a whole different story.

The slipping. The constant adjusting. The headaches by midday from wrapping it too tight just to keep it in place. The edges that paid the price. The fabric that felt suffocating the moment the temperature went up. The endless tutorials just to get it to look halfway decent. I loved headwraps but headwraps were not exactly loving me back. 😂

I found myself choosing not to wear them as often as I wanted to because the inconvenience outweighed the joy. And that didn't sit right with me. Something I loved so much shouldn't feel like a struggle every single time. So instead of giving up on headwraps, I decided to fix them.

That's how Onestep Beauty Bar was born. 🖤

We started with one simple mission to create a headwrap that women could actually live in. Not just wear for photos. Not just put on and hope for the best. But genuinely live in, all day, every day, through everything life throws at them. A headwrap that would go to work with you, run errands with you, show up to events with you and still look just as good at the end of the day as it did at the beginning.
